"I Beat the Odds" - Majestic Theater
"It was the "Future Legends of Comedy Tour" at the West End Comedy Theatre where we caught Eric Lokke delivering a hard driving mix of funny west-coast/local material that connected with the Dallas audience instantly. Horse poop and Dallas' Mayor, Laura Miller, somehow mixed to get the laughter rolling and it escalated from there. Eric did some of his favorites but more new material than we've seen in the past. There was NO disappointment as he threw open the gates and blasted his "Power Comedy" commentary on social prejudices, dating skills, LA homeless and his always popular WWJD! It was clear "Eric's Back in Town" if only for a few days! One of the originators of the comedy style that is best described as "Power Comedy". The one night show, with Eric in from LA, brought top local comedians to the stage showcasing some of the best and brightest before they blow up! Great show, and another great set by Dallas' grassroots comedy favorite. You've gonna have to catch him in March when the tour returns or take a trip to LA!" - Review by the Comedy Critic
"It was Eric Lokke in from Los Angeles for a guest spot at the Addison Improv. Known as a big laugh comedian with power jokes, Eric pulled out a mix of fresh, new material that he's been working in Los Angeles. It was clear why he's building a huge following on the west coast doing sets at the Laugh Factory, Comedy Store and Los Angeles area Improv's. He's doing a much cleaner set and broadened his topic range. It was nice to see Eric back in Dallas at the Improv. Try to get tickets next time he's in your area! " - Comedy Review by The Comedy Critic
"This is a don't miss, hard to find comic. If you can catch him, it's going to be pure chance at this point. Now living and working in LA, this comedian is HOT HOT HOT! He delivers an edgy, flat-out
funny set, that you will take to the water cooler for a week. He's got that kind of comedy that has you rolling the floor. Yes, he really said it... now close your mouth, you just look stupid with your mouth hanging open. I guarantee you won't forget this stand-up, we hear he's building a loyal following in small black and latino clubs as well as playing the majors. Other comics even like this one. You can tell he's pushing the limits of taste with a sharp probe. His fast wit is scary. We caught him adlibbing... he unravelled a heckler that had the nerve to try some distracting table conversation while wearing a "Members Only" shirt. Don't do it. He never missed a beat. Turn off the spotlight this guy can light the stage with verbal lightening when he gets wound up. This young comedian is going to be very BIG. Give him more stage." - Comedy Review by The Comedy Critic
4-5-05 - ICE HOUSE ANNEX -
"We caught Eric Lokke at the Ice House Annex in Los Angeles where he showcased for a packed house. It's been a while since we caught this comedian. Eric's been working. What we saw was jaw dropping, fall-out-of-your-chair funny from start to finish. NO SLOW POINTS. NO stretching for time. The audience was laughing consistently and hard. This is the comedian that has everyone talking after a show. Eric delivered some of most original and the funniest material we've seen anywhere in three years. He delivers fresh new comedy material that works 100% of the time. I don't care where your club is, get this comedian booked and watch him sell seats as a feature. Eric Lokke may be LA's next hot stand-up comedy star. There's no stoping this comedy freight train." - Comedy Review by ComedyCritic.com
